• The Open World Program is an exchange and partnership program designed to enhance understanding and cooperation between Congress, American communities, and global leaders.
• The program is administered by the Congressional Office for International Leadership (COIL), an independent government agency of the United States Congress in the Legislative Branch.
• Open World brings emerging government and civic leaders from mostly post-Soviet countries to the United States to work with their American counterparts during 10-day professional visits and facilitates continued relations through an alumni network and social media.
• Friendship Force clubs in the United States have partnered with Open World since its creation in 1999 to provide local hosting and themed programming for the Open World delegates.
