What and when is World Friendship Day?

Friendship Force’s World Friendship Day (not to be confused with the United Nations’ International Day of Friendship in July) is observed by FFI each year on March 1st. It marks the date the organization was officially established. Now, every March 1st is an opportunity to honor the connections that enrich our lives.

Clubs and members are encouraged to plan activities on March 1, or throughout the month of March, that embody the spirit of friendship and showcase the power of cultural exchange.

Looking for inspiration? Why not host an international feast for friendship and ask your guests to bring dishes from different cultures?  Or plan an event with a local school or cultural organization to learn about different world traditions, languages, and customs.  You could make a positive impact in your community by organizing a volunteer service project. And, of course, you can use Zoom for virtual meet-ups with old Friendship Force friends from around the world.

Be sure to send photos and descriptions of your World Friendship Day activities to FFI at gia@friendshipforce.org. We’d love to see them and share them!
